Industrial Chic Chair

This old, tired, school chair was given to me by a few teachers at my kids' preschool. I love, love, love this preschool. Seriously, even if you paid me, I wouldn't send my kids anywhere else.

Anyway, they learned about my hobby/obsession and thought maybe I could fix it up and put it in the silent auction we have coming up in April. Structurally, it was in great shape...aesthetically...not so much.

Exhibit A:

Due to my fantastic picture taking skills *ahem*, you cant see it, but it's got acrylic paint in various colors on the wood and metal legs.

I wanted to try the fancy painters tape I had, so I painted it a light aqua color and used the painters tape. FAIL.
Exhibit B:

The color wasn't right at all. Looks great in my bathroom, not great on the chair. Plus, the painters tape pattern was just too...dainty and sweet for this chair.

I finally came up with this...and I think I like it!

You can't really tell in the pictures, but I lightly distressed around the edges...maybe it needs more?

This is so cute! Just one question... how do you get your lines so perfect? I am literally right in the middle of painting a shelf for my daughter's room. I just pulled off the tape from my lines on it, and they're just okay. Not crisp and clean.
Maybe my tape just sucks?
