Client Coffee Table: Before and After

Howdy Peeps! Sorry for the little disappearing act...I'm recovering from surgery. Nothing too serious, I just finally decided it was time to evict the old uterus. She gave me 3 beautiful kids, but aside from that, she's given me hell. I don't miss her one bit ;)

Two weeks ago, Shayne brought me this coffee table for a client. Fantastic bones, but a babysitter had spilled nail polish on it...and then tried to use nail polish remover to get take it off. No good. It could be another installment of "Crimes Against Furniture".

Happy Tuesday!

The Unpainted Dresser + I NEED a Hepplewhite Pull!

We recently got my 3 year old into a big boy bed. By default, we put him into a full size bed....and here's why.

Growing up, I spent a lot of time with my grandparents. My grandfather was larger than life and also large. At 350 lbs, he and my grandma shared a full sized bed their entire life. I remember sleeping over at their house and being put to bed before the sun went down. My grandpa was always laying in this bed with his white t-shirt on, listening to the Minnesota Twins on the AM radio.

This bed belonged grandparents. I refinished it with my dad about 12 years ago...before I fell in love with redoing furniture. If I recall, my dad did about 80% of the work. He had the bed for awhile and we recently got it back just in time to put Dylan into a big boy bed.

Here it is in all of it's glory: Superhero sheets, bed rail and no box spring cover. I'm sure my grandma is rolling over in her grave, but I am thrilled to put it to good use!

So imagine my excitement when I found this at a garage sale last week!!

Photobucket

Guess what I paid!! Seriously...guess...I'll tell you at the end.

The top had major stains on it, so I stripped the top and refinished it in Cherry by Minwax. A perfect match.

Now it sits in Dylan's big boy room...a perfect match to my grandparent's bed!

Here's where you come in. The dresser is missing ONE pull. I'm thinking someone out there has an extra one lying round and wants to either swap pulls with me (I have a collection you can choose from) or I will pay you for one! Pleeeaase?

Photobucket

And want to know what I paid for her?

Photobucket

Thirty bucks.

You can hate me...but not for long, ok?

Glossy White Bamboo Accented Cabinet

Ok, first things first...earlier this week, I showed you this table and asked you to guess the finish I ended up with. If you guessed gray, you were right on the money! This is the way I finished it because for some reason, I wasn't diggin' the white that day.

But on to better things. This cabinet was brought to me in yellowy, dirty condition.

I made it glossy white after priming with oil based primer. I thought Newburg Green (BM) would be a fun surprise inside.

Whatcha think? I really like how she turned out!

In even better news, this little man started Kindergarten today! And had a wonderful day!! I'm a proud and happy mom tonight!
