This little dresser has been just waiting for a makeover. I got it along with the bed that I made into a bench and this vanity that I love (but still hasn't sold!). It was a great bedroom set at one point, but must've been left in a humid place because the veneer was a MESS. Before
After 2 coats of white paint, lightly sanding and waxing the top with a light tinted wax and glazing the body with dark walnut stain.
This one will be available through Carver Junk Company! ~Allison

I have been following your blog for a while and love to see the transformations that you reveal! I have a question though, when you write about a lightly tinted wax, what do you mean specifically? I am interested in trying my hand at a little rehab of my own and don't want to royally mess up!
You have such a talent for bringing out the beauty in a piece! I didn't even notice the little detail at the bottom till I saw the after. Beautiful job!
Your very own vases was so nice and artistic. I love it. I feel like making one. Thanks for sharing your talent and creativity it is very well appreciated. Visit my site too for some fun stuff. Good luck !

Allison so charming and much more genuine now, the paint really updates the piece without loosing those tiny style bits. Nicely done.

ReplyDeleteGorgeous, love the color!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I wouldn't have thought this was white paint with a walnut glaze. Did you use latex paint or chalk paint? I love it!
ReplyDeleteI love how the paint complements the darker top. What a lovely piece.
ReplyDeleteI always love a two-tone dresser & this one is gorgeous! I'm featuring it in this week's Power of Paint Party's Spotlight
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely love it! I've layered white paint and walnut stain before and it is such a great effect! Pinning.
