A Desk for Stella

I picked up this desk at a local estate sale company that was having a clearance...I didn't even know that type of thing existed, but they rented space in a strip mall and moved in a bunch of stuff that never sold at past sales. Brilliant!

I'd been on the lookout for a desk for my neighbor's daugher, Stella. She is such a sweet little 7 year old gal, and since I'll never have a daughter, it was fun to do something girly like this piece!

Here is the before. This thing is HEAVY with a capital H. Solid and well made. I got the set for $25:


The chair is still in progress...I'm waiting on the fabric to arrive. But here is the creamified "after" pics of the desk! I usually distress and glaze, so this was a nice change of pace...I really like the way it turned out.

  15. I'll just echo everyone else and say those are some adorable knobs! It's amazing how a coat of fresh paint can make a dated piece of furniture beautiful and relevant again.
