New (to me) Paint Finish

I had an antique dealer chasing me around Goodwill for this table. I mean, not literally chasing me. He was a really sweet older guy trying to "make sure" I really wanted the table. I did.....who wouldn't? Such great lines...here is the before:

For the finish, I was inspired by Kelli at Restore Interiors....she does amazing work! She had a similar style table that I saw here. I dry brushed three layers...a creamy white, a light gray/white (BM Silver Satin) and then a light beige. I distressed with 150 grit sandpaper and then did 2 coats of ebony stain. I am so in love with Ebony stain as a glaze....I could go on and on about it, but that might bore you. Here is the after...

I really like it and am working on three other pieces with the same finish. It's so easy and fun to do! Thanks for stopping by today! Don't forget to enter my giveaway below!

  5. Great job! Where were you at when I was painting my dresser for the last two days. So you dry brushed all 3 layers. Did you sand it down first? It looks great.

  8. Oooh what a great idea Allison! I have ebony stain that has been sitting in my stash for a year and I haven't known what to do with it. I would never have thought about using it for a glaze! Did you mix it with a medium or use it strait from the can? Thanks for linking up =)
