Striped Sophistication

I picked this piece up at the smallest thrift shop ever. It is super solid but had badly peeling veneer on the top. In it's former life it was an entertainment center or TV stand. Great shelves inside!

I used a heat gun and paint scraper to lift off the veneer and then sanded it down as it was course plywood underneath. I then painted it with BM Elephant Tusk, taped off some stripes, used a little black, then glazed with Provencial stain. And here is the finished product:

  7. Love this transformation! And faux hinges??? That is genius! The stripes really compliment the overall color and I like the way you've accessorized it too.
