French Provincial Tall Boy Dresser

So some of you know that I share a space at Carver Junk Company with Kirsten from White Butterfly Furniture. I am so lucky to have become partners with her!

When I came across this set at Goodwill, I knew I couldn't haul both home without making 2 trips....so I called up Kirsten, she met me there and we split the set.

Here is the lowboy...she kept this one and since I forgot to take a before of my taller dresser, I stole her picture ;)

A few weeks ago, Cassie over at Primitive and Proper did a gorgeous gray wash dresser that I haven't been able to get out of my head. To die for (click the above link to see it!). But aside from the drawers, the original finish was pretty good and I wasn't sure that a gray wash would hold.

So I sanded down the drawers and tried the gray wash. It's not as good as Cassie's, but I do love the way it turned out!

This one will be for sale at Carver Junk Company in November! Be sure to check out White Butterfly Furniture, say hi, and see what she does with the matching dresser!

Buffet with a Secret Drawer

I found this gem of a buffet at a tiny little thrift shop up the street from my house. I found it like this:

Not hideous, but not great...especially the top. After assessing it at home, this gorgeous blue was paint color number 4. Preceeding the blue was a white, a yellow and a super fun green. I wanted this one to show it's age and paint history a little, so I got busy with the orbital sander.

I will say that this type of finish wouldn't work in my house, but I think with the new glass pulls and primitive look, someone will love it!

Could you die over this secret drawer? Love.

She'll be for sale at Carver Junk Company at their October sale this weekend!

A New (to me) Coffee Table and a Redo

Hello Friends!!

I apologize for missing in action lately. I've had lots of projects but lots of volunteering at the school, helping with homework, etc. You know how it goes.

This little beauty is something I found at a sale for five bucks...but she was so rough. I think she'd been sitting outside for months. But when I stripped the top...gorgeousness came through. It's the perfect size for our family room.

The only problem is that now I want to redo the whole room....red couch and all. Hmmmm.

This latest little dresser/large nightstand came in the usual maple finish but it was orangy and dated.

I sanded down the top and used dark wax on it. Then to tone down the base/body, I used ebony stain and it worked really well!!

I think this looks more modern and fun! Will be for sale at Carver Junk Company next Wednesday-Saturday!!
