Whimsical Buffet

I picked this up yesterday from a local shop that had used it as a counter. It had been painted in a thin coat of white chalk paint and I thought I'd just spruce it up with a few coats of white and call it a day. But when I sanded it, a gorgeous blue green what underneath....so I sanded the high points, used dark wax and new knobs....and called it a day. No before photos....and this hose has got to go!

These pulls are the sweetest!!

Thanks for stopping by!

From a Desk to Matching Nighstands

So my partner, Kirsten from White Butterfly has done this trick many times, so when I found this desk, I knew I had to try taking a desk into two separate nightstands.

This desk had a very narrow knee hole, so I didn't feel too bad cutting it up. And actually, I didn't cut it up...my neighbor did. Thanks Jeff!

I used Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint in Dried Lavender with antiquing wax. I was going to try to swap out the knobs, but they didn't want to come off without a fight. I'm SO glad I kept them on!

Much more functional! These will be for sale at Carver Junk Company in June!

Serpentine Front Dresser with General Finishes Milk Paint

Well, I can safely say this piece is in my top five of pieces I've redone. 95% of the reason I love it though, is the bones and structure of the piece. And sadly I don't even have a "before picture". You'll need to trust me that the finish on my piece was exactly like this dresser below.

I'm not sure why, but I don't like blonde furniture at all. I never have. But when I saw this piece on Craigslist, I had to have it even though it's more than I usually spend. I could justify it because it's going in our bedroom....and now I'm sure it's worth it.

I had to strip the top...three times. THREE. But it was so worth it. I used Dark Walnut by Minwax on the top and it turned out much differently than it usually does. And I love it. For the body, I used General Finishes Milk Paint in Antique White. It's a great white that's not too bright and not too yellow.

Can you even handle how pretty this wood is?!

It even came with a serpentine piece of glass to protect the top. I'll need to get pics of this when it's in our room. I'm so in love!
