From a Desk to Matching Nighstands

So my partner, Kirsten from White Butterfly has done this trick many times, so when I found this desk, I knew I had to try taking a desk into two separate nightstands.

This desk had a very narrow knee hole, so I didn't feel too bad cutting it up. And actually, I didn't cut it up...my neighbor did. Thanks Jeff!

I used Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint in Dried Lavender with antiquing wax. I was going to try to swap out the knobs, but they didn't want to come off without a fight. I'm SO glad I kept them on!

Much more functional! These will be for sale at Carver Junk Company in June!

Good job .... and if someone ever wants it to be a desk again just add a smooth door or other top to it.

These came out awesome! So much better as night stands than a desk. They look like they are a perfect size.

I think this is SUCH a great idea! I've got my eye out looking for the right desk to cannibalize. Our bedroom is a pretty good size BUT the only one wall we can put our bed on - and it leaves us VERY limited with space for night stands. VERY LIMITED.
Great inspiration!

They look much better as side tables. How brilliant to think to cut the desk that way..
