Thrifting is Hard Work

I told you all yesterday that I was jonesing to go thrifting. I headed out yesterday with 2 boys in tow...literlly kicking and screaming. We hit 2 thrift shops and there was nuthin. It hurt my heart when I saw the furniture selection.

"But moooooam! We ALWAYS go to Goodwill and they don't have toys. We always get furniture!"

"Mooooam! The carts aren't big enough for me to sit in! And they don't have good toys!"

Is this familiar to anyone else?

But perseverance pays off. I dropped the kids at home with the hubs and hit one last shop that never has any furniture. And there it was....a fabulous tv stand/bar for $15. Yep. The veneer needs work on the top (read: I may just take it off) but what a steal! I also found some smalls that I'll be transforming this week.

Then today, Shayne came by with some goodies to be painted for the shop. She had told me about a chair she'd picked up, but I didn't believe it until I saw it. Check it below AND the fabby sofa table (that she bought) that I'll be working on! Note...the chair will NOT be yellow any more ;)

And Shayne is picking this up tomorrow! Another online auction purchase! Eeeek!

That is totally my kids 10 times over! They try to tell me when we go to a store...NO FURNITURE MOM. They know better though. Mommy always wins that battle! Love your finds - that chair is awesome and I agree with Cassie, I love that yellow!

I can't wait to see what happens to that gorgeous chair! Even if, with the right upholstery fabric, I would really try to work with the yellow (because I like it so)

That yellow chair with grey and yellow fabric in a modern style would be fabulous.
