Surprise Pop of Color

I found this sewing table at a garage sale for $5.00. FIVE bucks. Her legs are divine...but she still had a bunch of parts inside her that weren't needed. I looked at it for days trying to figure out how to take the guts out. My father-in-law looked at it, and 15 minutes later, the guts were gone. I heart him.

Picture this table as a dried out, dirty from sitting outside for years, wooden piece.

Now look at her!

Wouldn't it be divine if there was a little shelf in there? Yeah...that's not in my skill set yet...but it should be!

Isn't it perfect for an entry table or a little bar??

Spectacular! I love what you did with this table--the pop of pink is absolutely to die for! I may have to stop passing up all the great sewing machine tables I see at GW and give your great inspiration a try! :)

Love the color and everything. Guess what? I picked up a cute little sewing machine table for a little less than $5 at Goodwill the other day that I am planning to refinish! But I must admit, yours look better than mine:)

That looks fabulous, what kind of paint did you use? If you say chalk I'm on my way to get some! You could easily get a shelf in there, perhaps you should "wonder" how it's done next time your father-in-law is around! I'm off to go explore your site.

I love the legs and pop of color. Until you can get a real shelf, is there a way you could slide in a piece of wood or maybe a large cookie sheet or something to make the inside more functional? Something to consider if it will be a long time to figure out how to get a shelf on the bottome.

Now you are making me wish I hadn't sold my mom's old sewing table just because the machine itself had seen better days!

I seem to collect these old sewing machine cabinets, I have several in my house. But I never thought of painting the inside a different color. As soon as I saw it, I thought that I could turn one into a cute little vanity for Big Sister's room! I LOVE IT!
