Here is the before
I sanded it down and painted it a soft white. Then I used 2 different Cabot stains to achieve the bluish/grayish/greenish distressed color she was looking for. I dry brushed them on and then distressed. I sent pictures to my client and she said "why don't I come over and show you how to age/distress with a heat gun". I'd never heard of this, but it's pretty cool! This "client" is actually a friend and mentor, so it's weird for me to call her a client. Coolest.gal.ever!!
She came over and we sanded and made the paint "bubbly" with the heat gun. Then we took a scraper and scraped it off. I think I got the technique pretty well...I just wish I hadn't distressed so much before using the heat gun.
Here's how it turned out
Enjoy!

I don't know what a heat gun does either.... I have heard of them, just not sure how they work!

Very cool, Allison!
Very nice, it looks so much more sophisticated now.
Hmm, I never would have thought to use a heat gun to distress but I know I'll try it now.
Looks great! I love the white wash treatment.
Nice finish.
Heat gun!?! Awesome. I love discovering new ways to age furniture! This turned out great!
Love it! Perfect soft grey and the distressing isn't over-the-top! I'd love this piece in my dining room!
Love it. You must tell me what a "heat gun" is. Sometimes I use a hair dryer. However, I live in Texas and anything related to HEAT right now is not good.
